- What sort of things do you think you’re good at? (Why?)
When I was younger, I genuinely believed I had a natural talent for singing and even dreamed of becoming a singer someday. But as I grew older, I realised that it might have just been childhood enthusiasm rather than true ability. These days, I find that writing is something I genuinely enjoy and seem to do well in. I’ve received a few compliments, and even the occasional award for my short stories. Other than that, I’d say most of my skills are fairly average, and I’m still in the process of discovering what makes me truly unique. That said, I firmly believe that talent isn’t everything. With enough effort, practice, and consistency, it’s absolutely possible to improve and grow in any area over time.
2. Do you have the same talents as anyone else in your family? (Why/Why not?)
Not really. None of my family members seem to have any particularly remarkable talents, so I don’t believe I’ve inherited any special abilities from them. That said, I do recall that when I was in middle school, I excelled in literature and even won third prize in a school-level competition, which was a proud moment. My parents have always placed a strong emphasis on education and encouraged us to study diligently. As a result, all the children in my family tend to do well academically. However, I wouldn’t say that any of us possess outstanding artistic or athletic talents. It might simply be that we haven’t had the opportunity, or the confidence to fully explore our hidden potential yet.
3. Is there a talent you already have that you’d like to improve? (Why/Why not?)
Yes, I’d really like to improve my writing skills. Writing has always been a way for me to express myself more clearly and honestly, especially when I struggle to put my thoughts into spoken words. It’s not just a creative outlet; it also feels therapeutic. I find that writing helps me process my emotions and gain clarity. That’s why I’m motivated to keep developing this talent, not just to become a better writer, but also to better understand myself.
4. Do you think you will use your talents in a future job? (Why/Why not?)
Absolutely. I would definitely consider using my writing skills in my future career. I believe having a unique talent can give you an edge professionally and also make your work more fulfilling. As an English teacher, writing not only helps me express myself more effectively but also allows me to share meaningful experiences, especially those I’ve had while living or studying abroad. I hope to use writing as a way to inspire my students, perhaps by sharing personal reflections, stories, or tips through blog posts or social media.
